In Memory : Bio of The Life of Bro. John Earl Pryor

Bro. Pryor, the son of Hubert Cleveland Pryor I and Dora Reed, was born on October 02, 1953 in Wichita Falls.

His early education was in Tulia and Oklaunion, Texas. He moved to Harrold, Texas in his freshman year. He was a talented athlete in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He especially loved being in the Future Farmers of America. After graduating from Harrold High School he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University for two years on a partial football scholarship. He pledged Phi Beta Sigma his sophomore year.

In 1974, he joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for 22 ½ years as a security policeman at Kirkland AFB, Albuquerque, N.M.; Kunsan AFB, South Korea; Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, S.D.; Vandenberg AFB, Lompoc, Calif., (played on and helped coach two Air Force teams to win gold and silver medals at the Inter-Service Softball Championships); Sigonella Air Station, Italy, (honored to escort Vice President George H. W. Bush to Comiso AFB from Sigonella); Carswell AFB, Forth Worth, (served in support of the Desert Storm Operations from 02 Aug 1990 thru 30 Jun 1996); Clark AFB, Philippines, (one of the last soldiers to leave Clark after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo); and Altus AFB, Altus, Okla. In June 1996 he retired. After retiring he worked 14 ½ years in management for Wal-Mart in Altus, Hobart, Elk City, and Lawton, Okla. as well as Henderson, Nev.; Monroe, La.; and Tyler, Texas.
